Yes, I realize that the Blackhawks are at home and that there is no quoted section in this preview. I apologize, I didn’t know I was doing the preview until a bit ago & Kat deals with the images around here. (EDIT from Kat: I finally got the picture fixed. Sorry about that!)
Well after being in 7th/8th for a hot minute, the Blackhawks are back to being on the outside looking in because of the Predators win over the Blue Jackets.
I’m going to be perfectly honest, I’m less concerned about scoreboard watching and more concerned about the Blackhawks simply getting wins and controlling their own destiny.
In the good news for the Blackhawks, defenseman Brent Seabrook was officially announced as locked up for the next 5 years at $29 million (Full story at CSN Chicago). If you’re concerned about the salary cap situation, like I was read this. You’ll feel better. Promise.
As per usual, this game is a big one. The Coyotes are 8-2-0 in their last 10 and will be looking to get back on track after two straight losses following their eight game win streak. Two points are all that matters because the Western Conference is a gongshow.
Chicago won against Nashville 3-0 on Thursday
Phoenix lost to Columbus 5-3 on Friday
CHI: No injuries to report.
PHX: Forward Ray Whitney is day-to-day with a lower body injury. (nhl.com) Defensemen Adrian Aucoin & Ed Jovanovski are also listed as out. Forward Scottie Upshall returns to the lineup following a two game suspension. (coyotes.nhl.com)
