The Blackhawks are going to Washington! Would it be too much to hope that they take Joey the Junior Reporter with them so he could interview President Obama?
Here’s the story from ESPN Chicago:
President Obama will host the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks on March 11 during a ceremony at the White House.
Hawks chairman Rocky Wirtz, general manager Stan Bowman, head coach Joel Quenneville and other executives and team members will attend the ceremony.
After the ceremony, there will be a street hockey clinic as part of Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign. According to Madhouse Enforcer, the Blackhawks will also visit soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center during their trip.
In more sobering news, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy has been found in Bob Probert’s brain, who died last July at the age of 45. (SI.com) Greg Wyshynski from Puck Daddy has written a breakdown of this “confounding case.”
There’s no real way to segue to this next headline from there, so… go read this from HOCKEE NIGHT. I think Forklift has used all the Charlie Sheen jokes for all of us Blackhawks writers out there. (HOCKEE NIGHT)
And, finally, Bloge Salming and Houses of the Hockey bring you a video that will surely melt your face off and leave children crying over your exploded body — and I swear, that will be the last Charlie Sheen reference on this site.
