Begging > Prayer: Blackhawks @ Phoenix Coyotes Review

Blackhawks defeat the Phoenix Coyotes 2-1.

Chris Campoli is our savior? I’ll take it.

Two points.

No points for the opposing team.

It’s about as good of a response as you can expect after the Blackhawks crapped the bed against the Stars.

The fact that it was two guys who you don’t expect to score goals (Duncan Keith and Chris Campoli, who scored his first goal as a Blackhawk) who lifted the Blackhawks over the Coyotes makes it all the sweeter.

However, all of this is tempered by the apparent knee injury Patrick Sharp received in the first period of the game. You can watch the video here. Get well soon, Sharpy.

Captain Force of Nature watch: He made a sweet pass to Campoli to give him his first goal as a Blackhawk, as well as the game winner.

Duncan Keith plus/minus rating watch: Even. And did I mention that he scored a goal? Awesome.

Post-game quotes from @TramyersCSN:

Keith: “Nice plays all around and (Crawford) was making those big saves at the time of year when you need those saves.”

Toews on injuries: “As frustrating as it is for those individuals, they always battle back and bring a lot when they’re ready to play again.”

Toews on the game-winning goal: “All (Campoli) had to do was get good wood on it. He made no mistakes. Obviously it was a huge goal for us.”

Q on Crawford: “He made his two biggest saves of the year in the game’s critical moments late. He looked big in the net.”
