Blackhawks fall to the Dallas Stars 2-1.
Those numbers up there? Coach Quenneville’s all-time opening night record. Yeah.

So, let’s be honest. I didn’t get to watch this game, since I was covering the Steel game tonight.
However, from what I could see on my Twitter timeline, the Blackhawks got chances they didn’t capitalize on, and the defense left Crawford out to dry. These themes sound familiar.
But, really, this is just another typical Blackhawks opening game. Now, if they make this a habit, then I’ll start to worry.

Post-Game Quotes From nhl.com:
Joel Quenneville: “It was one of those nights where you get behind 2-0 and we couldn’t get that first one until it was too late.”
Jonathan Toews: “We had some chances on the power play, some mistakes here and there. It’s not the way we wanted to start the season, obviously. I think we made too many mistakes and gave up too many chances. We’ve got to play with a little more energy.”
