Just imagine Chara and Tim Thomas singing this song together. You’re welcome for the broken brain.
This is going to be the only time the Blackhawks and the Bruins meet this year. It’s kind of a big deal since it’s the 2010 Stanley Cup champions meeting the 2011 Stanley Cup champions. I don’t know — maybe you’ve been told. Unlike the Care Bears, though, I’m not sure the Bruins have the energy to care a lot (see what I did there?). The Stanley Cup hangover is a real thing, folks, and right now, the Bruins are in the middle of attempting to recover from it. Have fun with that.
Meanwhile, the Blackhawks have won their past two games. Sure, they were against the Dallas Stars and the Winnipeg Jets, but you take these wins where you can get them early on.
All I know is that the Bruins should never have to pay for a drink in Chicago this weekend because of the way they dispatched the Vancouver Canucks in the Stanley Cup Finals. Let us welcome our brothers in Vancouver hatred warmly — before beating them, of course.
Chicago won against Winnipeg 4-3 on Thursday.
Boston lost against Carolina 3-2 on Wednesday.
CHI: Forward Ben Smith (concussion) and Viktor Stalberg (leg) are close to returning to the team. (nhl.com)
BOS: Forward David Krejci (abdominal) is out, and defenseman Adam McQuaid (head) is questionable for tonight. (nhl.com)
Daniel Carcillo, CHI: “My game is the same every night. Getting in on the forecheck, making hits, getting on the puck and going to the net.” (nhl.com)
Claude Julien, BOS: “If a tough opponent is what you need to get the best out of a lot of us, then hopefully that’s the case and we play a little more like the team that we can be.” (CSNNE.com, via nhl.com)
