Blackhawks lose to the St. Louis Blues 3-0.
Coached to death.
I’ve kept starting and re-starting this recap before I realized that I really don’t want to discuss this game. It’s not that it was just a bad loss, because I’ve written about those before. It was just a really frustrating loss, and the loss hangs mostly on Coach Q’s shoulders. From putting John Scott in an away game (where Ken Hitchcock could match him with players who don’t skate like they’re permanently stuck in tar) to responding to the loss against Vancouver with Coach Q’s Random Line Generator (trademark pending) to the overall failure of the power play — this game was Coach Q’s Folly from top to bottom, and I don’t really feel like reliving the horror.
So, instead of your usual recap, here’s a video of Ben Smith (currently with the Rockford IceHogs) reading to kindergarten children. You’re welcome.
