Daydream Believer: Blackhawks 2, Senators 1

And a homecoming king. (Photo: Bridget Samuels/flickr)

Well, look at that.

A game I have no complaints about. That’s weird to say about a 2-1 game, but it’s true!

Every facet of the Blackhawks game was on tonight. Ray Emery was spectacular in net and was one Brent Seabrook screen away from a shutout. He ended up turning away 25 out of 26 shots.

The offense kept firing, eventually putting up 39 shots on goal. Bryan Bickell would get the game-tying goal at 5:14 in the second period, while Marian Hossa would score the game winner later in the same period on a power play goal. Yes, you read correctly. The Blackhawks scored on the power play!

Good game. Lofty game. Let’s hope the Blackhawks can keep it going on Sunday.
