The Wolves announced yesterday that they signed River Forest native Zach Miskovic to add depth to the blue line. The 27-year-old comes to us from Hershey, where he played 152 games from 2009 to 2012–tallying 13 goals and 32 assists for 45 points. His rookie year included career highs in assists (20) and points (26), and last season gave him playoff experience in three games, where he scored two assists. He came straight to the AHL after four years with St. Lawrence of the ECAC, and we’re looking forward to see what he’ll do to strengthen the Wolves’ defense going forward.
The Wolves also signed a goaltender last week. QMJHL goaltender Mathieu Corbeil-Theriault has been added to the team after anchoring the Saint John Sea Dogs through a 37-10-1 record while posting six shutouts. He has been part of the Q for the past five years, playing 162 games split between the Halifax Mooseheads and now the Saint John Sea Dogs–with whom he gained the 2011 Memorial Cup and advanced to the semis for the same title in 2012, posting a 18-3 record with a GAA of 2.42 and .910 save percentage.
