Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself

How Stalberg feels about my rapping skills

New site, same old attitude.

You might have noticed that, when you typed in “runsonduncan.com” into your browser, it sent you here and not to Aerys Sports.

Well, there’s a very simple reason for that. Officially, as of today, Runs On Duncan is an independent blog.

Why? Simply, I felt it was time for a change for the site and for me personally. I’ll always be grateful for Aerys and Julie DiCaro for convincing me that people would read my silly ramblings about my favorite hockey team. But it’s time to prove that the site can stand on its own. (So, yeah — that means there was no real drama leading to this decision. Sorry, guys! Not everything on the Internet is a rage quit.)

So what does this mean for you? Nothing much, really. Besides the obvious cosmetic differences, the site is still going to keep doing what it’s doing — updating you on the Chicago Blackhawks (and their affiliated teams, the Rockford IceHogs and Toledo Walleye) with a large dose of humor and snark.

The writers are the same. It’s just the font that’s changed.

So, update your bookmarks, folks — it’s going to be a fun ride.

Sadly, no, I won’t be covering the AIHL for Aerys.

HOWEVER, I will be covering the AIHL… but I haven’t decided whether to cover it on ROD or start a new blog that focuses on the AIHL (tentatively named “Runs On Down Under,” haha).

Yeah, I can see how that would be a tricky choice when it’s hard to tie it back to the ROD ‘mission statement’ so to speak. I’m glad you’re still going to cover it, though, it’s pretty interesting seeing what Aussie hockey looks like from a distance.

I think I’ll probably start a new site for it. And actually call it Runs On Down Under. Because I’m a dork. I would have to start it soon, since, you know. The season’s almost starting. I’ll move all my AIHL posts from last year over to that site, too…

Yes, I am using this reply to think out loud. Haha.

Woo! I’m sort of striking out on my own this season, thinking of doing a blog that’s more random and personal and gives me space to talk about roller derby as well. Tis the season for new things!
