Yeah, so, let’s just see the only goal first before I get into the rest of this recap.
So Clayton Stoner turns over the puck, and before anyone can react, Marian Hossa puts it into the back of the net. Yep. I don’t think Hossa has ever missed on a shot like that.
The rest of the game was pretty much the entire Minnesota Wild team passing the puck to Ryan Suter so he could attempt to play hero, since he’s their one real offensive threat — even though he plays defense. Oh. I’m starting to see the problem here.
Speaking of defense, how wonderful has Nick Leddy been this season? I know Pat Foley already wrote a love letter to him during the broadcast, but he’s right — Leddy’s confidence with the puck has grown by leaps and bounds this year, and he’s not afraid to go up the middle with that beautiful skating of his. Gee, if only I could remember what team the Blackhawks dumped Cam Barker on to get their hands on Leddy. The name escapes me.
Oh, by the way? There is no goalie controversy, no matter what the meatballs and the media tell you. Ray Emery and Corey Crawford are nice kids and can share that number-one goaltender spot with each other.
Nine more games until the playoffs. Keep racking up those points, boys.
One more thing:
That’s gonna leave a mark. Poor Coach Q.
