The final week of the 2013-14 AHL regular season saw the IceHogs play in 2 final contests with their playoff hopes barely alive. The IceHogs needed to win both games and get some help from other teams—mainly the Oklahoma City Barons—in order to make the post season. Continue reading →

The IceHogs did not fare very well in their games during week 28 of the AHL schedule. With 3 important contests over the weekend, they dropped 2 of them, which set them back in their race to the playoffs. Continue reading →

The IceHogs played in three Midwest Division games to end week 21 and begin week 22 of the AHL schedule. Two of the three games were at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford as the IceHogs took on the Chicago Wolves and the Milwaukee Admirals. The IceHogs finished up week 9 of the AHL schedule, along with the extended Thanksgiving weekend—with home-and-home match-ups against their I-90 rivals, the Chicago Wolves. These 2 games had a little of everything, including flying teddy bears and hats, as well as a Rockford victory.
Oh, wait — Casey and I did. Yes, we recorded with Fork and CT of HOCKEENIGHT, which quickly turned into a podcast of everything we hate, including:
The Team USA jerseys
NBC Sports Network
The Edmonton Oilers (specifically, “Oil Change”)
The Pittsburgh Penguins
The St. Louis Blues, who are trying to limit the number of Blackhawks fans in the stands like the Nashville Predators.
Terrible contracts handed out by other teams (actually, we love this, to be honest)
Online dating (Well, Casey hates it, anyway — which is why she’s letting other people take over her online dating profile. Casey enjoys long walks on the beach, Sailor Moon, and knocking people over while playing hockey. LADIES.)
The jig guy on the Jumbotron at the United Center
Also, do not Google Tonker.co.uk or Bearforce One. (See, I’m not even going to link these for you. I’m trying to help you out.) Just don’t.
