The IceHogs went on a rare trip to New York during week 18 of the AHL schedule. They took on the Rochester Americans and the Utica Comets in back-to-back games before coming back home to the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford to take on the Hamilton Bulldogs to start week 19.

The end of week 13 brought the IceHogs’ only trip into Ontario for the 2012-13 season. In theory, the games should have been on total opposite sides of the spectrum considering the Hamilton Bulldogs sat near the bottom of the Western Conference and the Toronto Marlies sat atop the Western Conference. But, both games had similar outcomes, which weren’t in the Hogs’ favor.

There were only two games scheduled for the IceHogs in week ten and if they wanted to gain sole possession of first place in the Midwest Division, they had to win both of them. Well, that didn’t go as planned.
The IceHogs finished their three game road trip with a couple of games in Texas and then headed home for their final tilt of the season against Hamilton. As the days go on in the stretch run, every game’s two points become more and more valuable for the Hogs as they continue to fight for their playoff lives.
