The IceHogs played in three Midwest Division games to end week 21 and begin week 22 of the AHL schedule. Two of the three games were at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford as the IceHogs took on the Chicago Wolves and the Milwaukee Admirals. The other contest saw the IceHogs travel to Iowa to take on the Wild.

The IceHogs had a very important stretch of games in the past week as they were slated to play 4 games in 6 days. It was a good opportunity for them to pick up some big points, especially against Midwest Division rivals Milwaukee and Grand Rapids. Unfortunately for the Hogs, the week didn’t go according to plan.

The trend continued for the IceHogs in week 27 of the AHL schedule: get 6 out of 6 points and they’ll be that much closer to grabbing a playoff spot. Well, that didn’t go according to plan, but with 4 of 6 points, they’re still right in the middle of the log jam that is the race for 8th place in the Western Conference standings.

Week 26 featured 4 games for the Rockford IceHogs and they were all against Midwest Division opponents—well, they were split between 2 teams in the division, the Milwaukee Admirals and the Peoria Rivermen. The IceHogs needed to bring home a solid 8 of 8 points to keep themselves in contention for the 8th and final place in the Western Conference. They did just that.
